mHealth Futures is a young, dynamic company established to develop mHealth applications in chronic (long-term) disease. Though currently small, it has ambitious plans to harness the increasing demand for mHealth to underpin organic growth and to establish itself as a UK leader in this sector, with international outreach. Consistent with this aim, the Company’s first major project, in collaboration with Podmedics, is the development of a mHealth platform EmERGE (Evaluating mHealth technology in HIV to improve Empowerment and healthcare utilisation: Research and innovation to Generate Evidence for personalised care) for the management of stable HIV, in partnership with patient groups, healthcare providers and researchers in the UK, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Germany and Croatia, with EU support totalling €5.4m over 5 years (2015-2020). Following consultation with patients and professionals across Europe the company has developed the brand ‘Acesso’ to take forward this work.
EmERGE is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant agreement no: 643736.
