mHealth Futures was founded by Dr Adrian Brown and co-founders Professor Martin Fisher and Dr Jennifer Whetham to be a commercial partner and vehicle for innovation for an EU Horizon 2020 funded project for use of an mHealth platform in the management of stable HIV. ‘EmERGE’ – Evaluating mHealth technology in HIV to improve Empowerment and healthcare utilisation: Research and innovation to Generate Evidence for personalised care. EmERGE is a partnership with patient groups, healthcare providers and researchers in the UK, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Germany and Croatia, with EU support totalling €5.4m over 5 years (2015-2020). Following consultation with patients and professionals across Europe the company has developed the brand ‘Acesso’ to take forward this work.
